Lee Bryant
TBC (BTh 1963)
After earning a diploma in commercial art, Lee graduated from TBC with a BTh. During her holidays, she worked in Chicago at the Pacific Garden Mission and became involved in a counselling mission there.
After she suffered a bout of nephritis, she wrote a spiritual, reality-driven autobiography in 1970 called Come, Fill the Cup, to explain to her artistic friends what had happened to turn her life as a former alcoholic around to Christ. This book, and her second book, The Magic Bottle (1978), resulted in many speaking, counselling and teaching opportunities, including teaching a self-devised course called Our Cultural Heritage at OBC during 1971-72.
Her work as a counsellor and therapist in the early 1980s at a residential alcoholism recovery home for men in Waterloo, Ontario, gave her insight into the problems of addictions.
In 1991, her contribution to community life in Waterloo Region was recognized with the Zonta’s Women of Achievement Award.
