Wilma Watson

TBC (1941)

Born into a Christian home, Wilma and her two sisters early came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour.

Beginning in 1942 as a "ministering angel" with the Yonge Street Mission in one of the most difficult areas of metropolitan Toronto, Wilma counselled countless needy people; visited sick and shut ins; spoke; sang; wrote for the Out of the Storm paper; and carried on Pioneer Girls' programs as Guide, Chief Guide and Fort Captain.

She was still serving there 35 years later, when she was presented with the DA Award in 1977.

Wilma was a member of High Park Baptist Church, Toronto, serving in various roles during that time, and for a period of time she was a member of the Corporation of Ontario Bible College.
