Extended Healthcare Benefits
Information for Students
One of the hallmarks of a Tyndale University experience is Holistic Student Development. In our programming, we desire to attend to your academic, spiritual, emotional/mental, social, physical, financial, career and vocational well-being.
Tyndale has partnered with the Gallivan Student Health & Wellness to provide healthcare benefits for all students enrolled in two or more courses.
Extended Healthcare Benefits
myStudentPlan is an Extended Healthcare Benefits & Dental Plan that provides Domestic and International Students coverage for prescription drugs, vision, dental care, paramedical practitioners, and amount others not covered by the province health care.

American & International Students
myCanadaPlan provides coverage for American and International (non-American) students in the event of an emergency medical occurrence, accident, or illness while you are studying in Canada at Tyndale.
This portal provides detailed information about the programs and how they work.
It is important that you keep your mailing address information up to date with Tyndale University. This information will be used by the insurer from time to time to verify your identity. If you have a change in mailing address information, please update this by clicking on the “Address/Phone” update box by logging into classes.tyndale.ca.
Plan Enrollment & Opting Out
If you have enrolled in two or more courses at Tyndale you will automatically be enrolled in the Extended Healthcare Benefits program. The program is mandatory unless you have equivalent coverage already in place.
Opting Out
If you wish to opt out of Tyndale’s Extended Healthcare Benefits program, opt-out forms are available on the My Student Plan portal.
Opt Out and Family Add-on Dates
The Fall deadline term deadline to submit online forms is:
- August 20th, 2024 for programs starting August 1st
- September 25th, 2024 for programs starting September 1st.
Additional Details
- During the first 45 days of your enrollment you will need to pay out of pocket for your expenses. Please keep your receipts as you will need to submit a request for reimbursement after the validation period has passed either through the providers e-claim app or via a manual form. Additional details can be found at mystudentplan.ca/tyndale/en/making-a-claim.
- After the validation period you will need to register for a benefits e-card eprofile.claimsecure.com/?dest=register. This card will allow direct billing by the service provider, meaning that you will only be responsible to pay for the portion not covered by the plan.
- Eligible Domestic and International Students may add to the plan their spouse or partner and children and provide combined Extended Health and Dental coverage for them.
