Gibson Brown
TBC (1935)
Reverend Brown, who was a Baptist minister for more than 60 years, died on March 15, 2011, at the age of 103. His testimony resides in Tyndale’s archives, excerpts of which follow:
“In our College life there is much activity and much work to be done. But in the midst of it all there is one lesson in particular which I came to learn, and which has been a great blessing to me. It is found in the words of Psalm 46:10: ‘Be still and know that I am God.’ The Lord showed me that if I was ever to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our
Lord Jesus Christ, I must ‘be still’ before Him.”
“Every morning for 45 minutes before lectures began, we students had a prayer meeting, and so, at the beginning of the day, we learned to wait before the Lord.”
“I leave Toronto Bible College thanking God for teaching me this blessed lesson.”
