Katie Carline
Tyndale (2012)
In 2008, Katie Carline thought she would have all the answers when she graduated. She grew up in Kenya, the daughter of Canadian missionaries. When considering post-secondary education, she heard about Tyndale from friends and family who had attended the school. “I was drawn to a Christian learning environment that would also be within a city,” said Katie.
Katie enrolled as a history major. She really loved the small classes and the fact that professors supported her both academically and personally. Even as she prepared for graduation, her professors took the time to help her look for a graduate school that would be right for her.
After taking a year off to teach English in Japan, she went on to earn an MA from Dalhousie University and a PhD from Michigan State University before becoming a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the History Department at Dalhousie.
