Miranda Lau
OTS (MTS 1982)
After immigrating to Canada from Hong Kong, Miranda graduated with an MTS in 1982, and in 1988 with an MDiv, after which she served as a chaplain at Etobicoke General Hospital, providing ministry to staff members and coordinating the delivery of pastoral care to patients and their families.
She became a Christian through a university campus ministry and received a call to ministry in the early 1980s. During an OTS field placement, she became interested in chaplaincy, and she later received certification as a Specialist in Institutional Ministry with the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education in 1990.
Over the years, she has also served on the National Chaplaincy Committee of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada and on the Spirituality Committee of the Dorothy Ley Hospice in Etobicoke. She also volunteered as a victim services worker with the Caledon OPP.
