The Women's Hub

The Purpose of the women's hub

The Women’s Hub is a safe space dedicated for women in ministry in the Greater Golden Horseshoe area of Ontario, Canada (Peterborough to the Niagara Region).

We are passionate about gathering resources and conducting research to identify and create pathways to encourage beloved daughters of God to live in Christ, through the Spirit, as they pursue their pastoral-ministry vocational callings.

We focus on:

  • developing practical and missional skills
  • fostering spiritual growth
  • building connections with like-minded women
  • providing a platform for open sharing

Our Vision

The vision of the Women's Hub is to approach our mission with a foundation that is biblically sound, historically informed, theologically rich, and practically oriented.

Rev. Dr. Marilyn Draper is Associate Professor of Practical Theology and Director of the Women's Hub. As a church planter and an ordained minister, Dr. Draper combines years of frontline ministry experience with theological expertise.

She earned a PhD in Christian Theology from McMaster Divinity College. Her dissertation, entitled “Lived Doxology: A Spiritual Theology for the Church in Mission,” is an interdisciplinary examination of theological and spiritual foundations required for contemporary Christian leaders to live missionally in our current global context.

Previously, Dr. Draper was Part-time Professor of Pastoral Theology at Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto. She has also served as advisor for the Spiritual Formation track of Tyndale’s Doctor of Ministry program.

Through her teaching and research, Dr. Draper encourages Christian leaders to wrestle with questions about the nature of the church and what it means for us to actively participate in God’s mission in the world.

With over five years of research experience and a BSc in Psychology and MSc in Applied Psychology, she aims to apply her expertise to the church setting. Focusing on Christian women, she plans to research their challenges and how they've overcome them, with the goal of developing practical interventions to benefit the Church. As she navigates her own vocational discernment, she is particularly interested in exploring how Christian women discern their vocations.
