Online Periodical Databases
Below is a list of databases. Some databases are only available on terminals connected to the Tyndale computer network, including the Computer Lab. Remote access to the electronic databases provided by these services is available (remote access help).
This multi-disciplinary database provides full text for nearly 4,500 journals, including full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed titles and. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for 1,000 titles.
Atla Religion Database with AtlaSerialsPLUS is the premier index to journal articles, book reviews, and collections of essays in all fields of religion. In 2018 content from the Atla Catholic Literature Index was added to this database with additional full text content.
This is a special edition of the AtlaReligion Database for Tyndale graduates only. It includes access to many full text articles. The AtlaSerials for Alumni is funded by Tyndale University. Tyndale graduates may email the Tyndale Alumni office alumni@tyndale.ca to receive their password. Donations to support this access are gratefully received.

Business Source Elite is the industry’s most used business research database, providing full text for more than 2,300 journals, including full text for more than 1,100 peer-reviewed titles. This database provides full text coverage in all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance and economics.
Combines Canadian magazines, newspapers, newswires and reference books to create the largest collection of regional full text content available to Canadian libraries. This database includes leading Canadian periodicals and international (U.S. and U.K) periodicals in full text; full text reference books; full text biographies and an Image Collection.
Provides access to English language articles and reviews written from an evangelical Christian perspective from 1957 to present. The J. William Horsey Library maintains back files of most of the titles listed in this database. Check the catalogue for local holdings.
DOAJ - the Directory of Open Access Journals covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. The directory contains 7757 journals covering all subjects and languages (of these, 3774 journals are searchable at the article level).
The E-Journals database provides article-level access for thousands of e-journals available through EBSCO Subscription Services. For users with a valid subscription, EBSCO's SmartLinks technology provides direct links to publishers' content. For all Tyndale journal access use the Journal Directory.

Education Research Complete is the definitive online resource for education research. Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing.
Contains journal articles and reports in education, providing annotated references to nonjournal material issued in the monthly Resources in Education (RIE) and to journal articles issued in the monthly Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE).

The Internet Archive is a non-profit that was founded to build an Internet library. Its purposes include offering permanent access for researchers, historians, scholars, people with disabilities, and the general public to historical collections that exist in digital format. Many historical publications of Tyndale can be found here.
JSTOR contains an archive of over 3,000 academic journals in the arts and sciences right back to the beginning of each title. You cannot search for articles by subject but there are other excellent search mechanisms including author, title and full text article searches. JSTOR now also includes many ebooks from academic presses. Most ebooks are at least three years old, JSTOR now includes a vast image and art gallery called ARTstor. All ebook offerings the Tyndale has access to will be discoverable in WorldCat as well.

New Testament Abstracts Online contains article abstracts, review abstracts, book abstracts, and software abstracts.
The FirstSearch service offers 30+ bibliographic databases spanning diverse subject fields, and full-text articles from over 800 journals.
Old Testament Abstracts Online features indexing and abstracts for journal articles, monographs, multi-author works, and software related to Old Testament studies. Topics covered include antiquities, archaeology, biblical theology, philology and more.
Tyndale subscribes to 26 Oxford academic journals which include core religious and theological studies journals across a range of faiths and disciplines, as well as related humanities and social science titles in areas such as music, literature, and history. The Philosopher's Index provides indexing and abstracts from books and journals of philosophy and related fields published from 1940 to present.

Project Muse provides current electronic access to over 350 academic journals in many academic disciplines. Titles in this collection are published by nonprofit and University Presses.
The Proquest Religion Database provides full text online access to articles from over 90 of the most important religious and theological journals. Many titles have been indexed for more than ten years.
Contains more than 25,000 searchable full text articles from 45 journals published by the American Psychological Association and eight journals from allied organizations.

PsycINFO contains more than 2 million citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, dissertations and technical reports, all in the field of psychology. Journal coverage, which dates back to the 1800s links to full text in PsycArticles.
APA PsycTests®, produced by the American Psychological Association (APA), serves as a repository for a growing selection of psychological tests and measures, including thousands of actual test instruments and test items that are available for immediate download and use in research and teaching.
Religious and Theological Abstracts includes abstracts from over 360 journals. There are no subject headings in this database, but words in the abstracts may be searched and combined with other terms. There is access also by Bible citation. There are no direct links to full text articles.
Sage Journals Online covers over 500 full text peer reviewed Journals in all subject areas. Full text access goes back to 1999 for most titles.
Science Direct: Social and Behavioral Sciences includes top academic journals in Business, Economics, Education, Linguistics, Psychology, Sociology and other social sciences.Some books are also available in this database
