The entrance floor of the J. William Horsey Library is accessible to persons with physical disabilities. Enter from the front entrance of Tyndale at 25 Ballyconnor Court and turn left. The elevator is on your left. Proceed to the second floor library entrance by exiting the elevator and turning right down the hall to the glass doors. Do not go through the glass doors but turn right to the library entrance. There are electronic doors. Simply press the panel on the wall and the doors will open. The panel is on the wall to the left. Wheelchair accessible washrooms are at the right before you enter the library.
The ABBA Resource Centre is also accessible to persons with physical disabilities. Enter from the south entrance of the Bayview campus at 3377 Bayview Avenue, proceed to the elevator on the right. Go to the basement level and turn right and then left down the corridor, following the signs straight ahead. This library is all on one level with a ramp to the stacks area. Wheelchair accessible washrooms are located just across from the elevator.
All students with a disability who require special accommodation must register with the student life department. Assistance in the library is available for people who are not able to use public access terminals to locate library materials. Please identify your need and request assistance from library staff at the circulation desk. The lower level of the J. William Horsey Library where most of the books stacks are available is not easily accessible by wheelchair or elevator. Retrieval assistance is available for persons whose disability prevents them from retrieving materials on their own, usually within two hours.
Assistance will also be provided to persons who are not physically able to use the photocopy facilities. Library staff will photocopy needed materials within the provisions of the Canadian Copyright Act and the institutional copyright license by the end of the next business day. Regular fees for copies apply.
Patrons are welcome to bring assistive technology with them into the library. If the device may disturb other users, patrons should ask for assistance to find the best place in the library to use the device. Personal assistants and service animals are also welcome.
