Overview
Tyndale is committed to ensuring that the highest ethical standards are met in the conduct of research involving living human participants.
The Tyndale Research Ethics Board is the body responsible for the formal ethical review of all research at Tyndale with living human participants. Tyndale endorses the principles set out in the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans – TCPS 2 (2022).
Faculty, staff and students who wish to conduct research with living human participants must comply with Tyndale’s Research Ethics Policy. The Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS) allows certain exemptions such as :
- Observation in public places, course evaluations and internal or external organizational reports (Read TCPS 2 2.3 and 2.5)
- Minimal risk research (harm is no greater than that encountered in everyday life) is eligible for delegate review (Read TCPS 2 6.12)
