Biography

Steven began teaching in the Durham District School Board in the fall of 2012. He has taught in a variety of different roles in both Junior and Intermediate classes. He is currently entering his 13th year as an Intermediate Teacher in the Durham District School Board teaching homeroom along with History and Geography and Instrumental Music. His original qualifications in Canadian History have continued to be his passion. Although not always given the assignment, he has always found a way to bring the story of Canada into his instruction. Whether it is Instrumental Music. Language Arts or directly teaching Intermediate History, he enjoys drawing students into the discovery of the many stories from the many perspectives that Canadians from all different walks of life have to share. The highlight is always when the students are able to find their voice in the story of Canada so that they can become engaged member of the Canadian story.
