Christian Studies

Come to Tyndale for a year to explore possibilities for further study while deepening your relationship with Christ. Have the opportunity to play sports, join a worship band or develop your leadership skills.

This is a one-year certificate program that will introduce students to the principles of Christian discipleship and spiritual formation, the history of Christianity, and other topics. It is designed to ease the transition from high school to university and is also a good option for those who are returning to undergraduate studies after time away. This program may be taken full-time or part-time and courses may be transferred into a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Religious Studies degree program.

Program Outcomes

Students in the Christian Studies program will:

• Have a basic biblical foundation and an introduction to the history of Christianity.
• Have an introduction to principles of Christian discipleship and spiritual formation.
• Be able to express themselves well in writing and be familiar with some important works of English literature.
• Gain practical ministry experience.

When students complete this program, they will earn a Certificate in Christian Studies. Courses from this program may also be transferred into a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Religious Studies (BRE) degree program.

Certificate in Christian Studies - PAONL

This is a one-year certificate program that is designed for students within the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador (PAONL). This program helps students understand the distinctiveness of their Pentecostal heritage and gives them a passion to learn about and defend their own theology more vigorously. The program provides students with introductory theological training and ministry preparation, and can be transferred to the four-year PAONL program if desired.
