Tyndale Seminary extends special congratulations to Dr. Dennis Ngien on the publication of his latest volume: Luther’s Theology of the Cross: Christ in Luther’s Sermons on John (Cascade Books, 2018). The foreword is written by Alister McGrath and the afterword by Carl R. Trueman. “The book is gaining remarkably strong reviews for its careful exposition of Luther’s sermons on John’s Gospel, and the intrinsic and causal link between doctrine and consolation,” says Dr. Janet Clark, Senior Vice President Academic and Dean of Tyndale Seminary. This monograph marks a milestone in Dr. Ngien’s scholarly vocation, being his tenth book in publication. Dr. Ngien is already working on two more books, a festschrift for Alister McGrath for publication in 2019 and a new book project on Reformation Spirituality.
Dr. Ngien is Professor of Systematic Theology and the Director of the Master of Theology program at the seminary. He is also the Coordinator of the Master of Divinity Theology program. He is a research professor at Wycliffe College as well as being the Founder and Director of the Centre for Mentorship and Theological Reflection, which convenes annually.
Luther’s Theology of the Cross: Christ in Luther’s Sermons on John can be ordered through the Tyndale Bookstore or other online platforms.
