While studying for her In-Ministry MDiv at Tyndale Seminary, Melodie Bissell [MDiv 2010] was asked to complete a project that would engage the church and community. Her project grew into a training program and the business Winning Kids. Her goal is “winning the race against abuse” and setting a standard of protection for children. Winning Kids, which uses Biblical truths to inform the training materials, was her way to serve the community by fighting abuse. She strives to create safe spaces where children can be nurtured, protected and can receive the healing love of the gospel.
At a church Melodie attended, her training became a part of their planning and preaching. As a result, the community saw the congregation as trustworthy, screened and safe. This led to a partnership between the church and the local public school.
