Graduate Diploma Programs

The one-year Graduate Diploma program provides you with a foundation of biblical, theological and ministry studies for your spiritual growth and ministry development. The Graduate Diploma allows you to tailor your studies to meet your learning and ministry needs. You may choose a concentration in Christian Studies, Leadership, Global Christianity and Mission, Pentecostal Studies, Spiritual Formation or Youth and Family Ministry.

Master of Theological Studies (MTS)

Number of Courses: 18 | Time to Complete: 2 Years
Pursue if you are seeking a foundational graduate degree that can be utilized in a wide range of professional and ministerial contexts.

The Master of Theological Studies is a two-year graduate degree that helps you understand the biblical, theological and historical foundations of the Christian faith. The MTS is a flexible program that can be tailored to meet your learning and ministry interests, or help you prepare for further studies. Students may select electives from across the curriculum, or use them to focus their studies in a chosen concentration.

Master of Divinity (MDiv)

Number of Courses: 27 | Time to Complete: 3 Years
Pursue if you wish to prepare for ordained ministry or for general pastoral and religious leadership responsibilities in congregations and other settings.

The Master of Divinity is a three-year professional ministry degree that provides you with knowledge and skills to be an effective and holistic ministry leader. The MDiv blends academic study, mentored learning and practical experience in a comprehensive program that will prepare you for ordained ministry or for Christian leadership in its various forms.

Post-Graduate Diploma

Number of Courses: 8 | Time to Complete: 1.5 - 2 Years
Pursue if you desire to prepare for professional certification.

The Seminary offers two Post-Graduate Diplomas leading to professional certification. The Post-Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Direction provides educational requirements for the Certified Spiritual Director (CSD) designation. The Post-Graduate Diploma in Pastoral Thanatology provides educational requirements for the Certified Thanatologist Pastoral Specialist (CTPS) designation.

Post-Graduate Diploma Information

Master of Theology (ThM)

Number of Courses: 6 courses + thesis | Time to Complete: 1 Year
Pursue if you have completed an MDiv or MTS and wish to enhance your ministerial and missional practice with additional scholarship, or prepare for further study at the doctoral level.

The Master of Theology is an advanced academic degree that provides you with an opportunity for in-depth study at an advanced level.

ThM Information

Doctor of Ministry (DMin)

Number of Courses: 6 intensive modules + a major project | Time to Complete: 3 Years
Pursue if you have completed an MDiv or equivalent and are engaged in substantive ministry further developing your skills and capacities for effective leadership.

The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) program is designed to enhance your spiritual, intellectual and professional abilities in Christian ministry. You will learn how to combine academic research, spiritual formation and applied ministry strategies in this 3-year, in-ministry program. Join a collaborative, peer-to-peer learning environment. You will experience personal, professional and spiritual growth leading to a greater effectiveness in ministry. Pursue your DMin in Leadership or Spiritual Formation. This Doctor of Ministry degree will help equip you to navigate the complexities of life and ministry in the 21st century church.

DMin Information

Post-DMin Certificate

Number of Courses: 3 | Time to Complete: 3 Years
Pursue if you have completed an DMin degree but want to take additional courses as continued education.

Students who already have a Doctor of Ministry degree can complete a Post-Doctor of Ministry Certificate in three areas of focus. The Post-DMin Certificate is designed for people who already have a DMin but want to take additional courses as continued education. Students will complete 3 courses within 3 years.

Concentrations

MDiv, MTS and Graduate Diploma students may use their elective courses to complete a four-course concentration in one of the following areas of study:

Biblical Languages, Biblical Studies, Christian Education & Discipleship, Christian History, Church in the City, Counselling, Global Christianity and Mission, Leadership, Pastoral Ministry, Pastoral Thanatology, Pentecostal Studies, Spiritual Formation, Theological Studies, Youth and Family Ministry (2019-2020)


* Program durations are based on a traditional, full-time course load of nine courses per year. Program may be completed part-time over a longer period of time.
