Event Type: Tyndale Centre for Grief and Loss
Grief facilitator training will be offered through Tyndale Centre for Grief and Loss, via Zoom, for a total of 16 hours on Monday evenings (Jan. 27, Feb. 3, 10, 24, Mar. 5, 17, 24, 31) from 7pm to 9pm.
Overview
A sample of topics covered are: Understanding the difference between grief and mourning, how to vet and chose facilitators, nuts and bolts in starting a grief support group, leadership role and group rules and dynamics, the ten touchstones of grief, the language of grief, the impact of family of origin, care for the caregiver.
A certificate of completion will be given to each person who completes the entire training. One CEU credit will be available.
Cost: $320 (includes 8 sessions). Each participant will need to purchase a copy of books by Alan Wolfelt: “The Understanding Your Grief Support Group Guide”, “Understanding Your Grief – Second edition” and “Understanding Your Grief Journal – Second edition”.
