Presenter
Dr. Karen Wang
Dr. Karen Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and the Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry residency program. She works in two contrasting clinical contexts: as a consultant psychiatrist within the Tyndale Wellness Centre and as a youth inpatient psychiatrist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Prior to completing medical school at McMaster University, she was a high school guidance counsellor with the Toronto District School Board. She transitioned into the medical field in 2008 and completed her undergraduate medical training at McMaster University in 2011. She subsequently entered General Psychiatry training and subspecialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
In 2017, she established the Tyndale Psychiatry Clinic to provide timely access to psychiatric services for faculty, students, and the lay public. The care model established between psychiatrists and therapists has been an innovative collaboration that allows for efficient and effective mental health care delivery.
The webinars cover a wide range of topics including therapeutic modalities, and legal and ethical issues, while also focusing on the cultivation and enrichment of therapists' self-awareness.
Our presenters possess a deep passion for their respective topics and are qualified to deliver these current and relevant presentations.
