The Tyndale University community is deeply saddened by the news that the Rev. Dr. Timothy Tang, Director, Tyndale Intercultural Ministries (TIM) Centre, passed away suddenly in the early hours of Monday, September 4, 2023, while on vacation over the Labour Day weekend.
Tim was a sought-after expert, consultant and coach for leaders and organizations engaged in cross-cultural ministry, making significant contributions in helping many churches and mission agencies work through issues of inclusion, diversity and justice.
Beyond Tim’s service in his church, community and on various boards, all who knew him will remember the gift of joy and enthusiasm he brought to every conversation. Humble and welcoming, Tim had a way of drawing people in while never missing an opportunity to engage in conversations about significant issues in order to assist others in making a difference.
Together we thank the Lord for Tim, for his faithful service and all he has contributed to Tyndale in so many ways. We pray God’s grace for Tim’s wife, Joanne and their children, Tobin, Mathis and Breylin in this sudden loss, and for all who know and love them. Pray also for the TIM Centre staff and our students, faculty and staff during this time of sorrow.
