Beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year, graduates from Emmanuel Bible College (EBC) in Kitchener, Ontario, can apply credit for certain courses toward an MDiv or MTS degree at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto, thanks to a joint agreement intended to facilitate ministry goals.
EBC graduates with a BTh degree are eligible to receive up to nine courses Advanced Standing with credit toward an MDiv degree or up to six courses toward an MTS degree at Tyndale. EBC graduates with a BRE degree may receive up to seven courses Advanced Standing with credit toward an MDiv degree, and up to five courses toward an MTS degree at Tyndale.
“Tyndale and Emmanuel share a commitment to strengthening the next generation of Christian leaders in Canada, whether in church or in marketplace ministries, and this is a wonderful opportunity to widen the path,” says Dr. Beth Green, Provost and Chief Academic Officer, Tyndale. “Registering for a Seminary degree means that as students continue their journey with us, they will walk with a diverse range of fellow travellers who are following God’s call.”
“Students and alumni from Emmanuel Bible College who desire to pursue graduate studies have long been well-received at Tyndale,” says Dr. Neil Cudney, EBC President. “We are excited that our relationship with Tyndale has expanded to include a new opportunity for our graduates to earn up to a year’s worth of Advanced Standing credit at Tyndale – enabling them to pursue their academic goals at an accelerated pace, and saving them time and money as they prepare to serve the Lord in the church and in the world.”
The agreement with EBC is one of nearly 30 academic partnerships that Tyndale University invests in to support its mission to pursue truth and excellence for enriching of the mind, heart and character for global service.
“We are stronger when we partner with other members of the body of Christ. This is a first step to what we hope will be a fuller partnership with EBC, and we are excited to see where this will lead next.”
— Dr. Beth Green
