Dr. Brad Faught’s Research for Upcoming Book
Dr. Brad Faught (Professor of History & Global Studies) recently returned from a research trip to the UK, where he spent 10 days conducting archival research for his upcoming book “Allenby: Making the Modern Middle East.” The book is a biography of Edmund Allenby, the British military commander who defeated (with the help of Lawrence of Arabia) the Ottoman Empire in the Middle East in 1917-18 and then served as British High Commissioner to Egypt. Dr. Faught spent his time abroad working with historical artifacts at King's College London, the Imperial War Museum, the National Army Museum, the Parliamentary Archives and Cambridge University Library.
The photo, taken by Dr. Faught, shows Allenby’s former London townhouse. (Note the identifying round blue plaque.)
