The Chancellor is an honorary role that serves the University and supports the President in advancing the university’s interests in various local, provincial, national, and international arenas. The position is a voluntary one, unremunerated except for expenses, and thereby constitutes significant public service.
The Chancellor confers all degrees, diplomas, and certificates at Convocation ceremonies and presents the Chancellor Entrepreneurial Award to Tyndale Undergraduate and Graduate Students. She or he is also a resource to the President and heightens university life through events such as the Chancellor’s Reception at Christmas in the Chapel.
Each Chancellor is a person of distinction and excellence, who brings his or her skills to the position, and whose reputation and experience builds bridges with the external community.
