Move to the Bayview Campus Rescheduled for Winter 2015
Tyndale announced on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, that the move to the Bayview campus has been rescheduled to the winter 2015 academic term instead of over the upcoming Christmas break. All classes will be held on the Ballyconnor campus for the winter 2015 semester. At the outset of the renovations, Tyndale committed to minimizing unnecessary disruptions to the student experience as much as possible. This continues to be Tyndale’s commitment. Reviewing the progress to date and the renovations – many of which were unexpected – that still need to be done, it was decided that the potential disruptions outweighed the desire to move to the Bayview campus by the end of this year.
Tyndale is continuing to work with the City of Toronto to secure the Site Plan Approval that is required before a new entrance off Bayview Avenue and additional on-site parking can be created. Unexpected but necessary renovations continue to arise as the work proceeds, each requiring Tyndale to stop and properly address the issues before proceeding with other work.
Significant progress has been made but there is still much to be done. Regular updates can be found on The Road to Bayview blog at http://tyndaleblogs.ca/bayview.
Please continue to pray for this transition and its successful completion. Although challenging on many levels, it is exciting to think about the ways in which the new campus will expand the work of Tyndale in this next phase of its story that began 120 years ago. We are all part of it – students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters. Together we will get there, and it will be good.
