On September 29, Tyndale welcomed its alumni back on campus to reunite, refresh and celebrate with one another.
Dr. Robert Morris (BTh 1966, DD 2011) spoke on the theme Living a Life of Mission. He shared of his life experiences during his 50 years in mission and the changes he had witnessed in this field over those five decades. He also detailed the history and formation of the TIM Centre by Dr. Irving Whitt as we celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Dr. Robert Cousins (BTh 1980, DMin 2014) received the Lifetime Impact Award as a Distinguished Alumni for his many years of service in ministry, particularly his leadership role as Director of the TIM Centre over the last two decades. Dr. Cousins, alongside Dr. Michael Krause and Dr. Narry Santos, recently published "From the Margins to the Centre," a book about the diaspora and the TIM Centre’s ministry. Peter Adourin (BA 2011), Rev. Orim Meikle (BRS 1997), Robert “Bob” Dobson (Diploma 1970) and Dr. Karyn Gordon (MDiv 1997) were also honoured as Distinguished Alumni for the unique ways in which they bring the message of Christ to their vocations and communities.
Golden and Silver Milers of the classes of ’68 and ’93 enjoyed a special time of reminiscing while they shared a meal together. It was a wonderful day of reflection and reunion for all Tyndale alumni. Next year, a special Homecoming to celebrate Tyndale’s 125th anniversary will take place on September 21, 2019. Be sure to mark this day on your calendars!
