Biography

Dr. Franks joined the Tyndale Philosophy faculty in 2008 from the University of Oklahoma, where he completed his dissertation A Rational Problem of Evil: The Coherence of Christian Doctrine with a Broad Free Will Defense. He has published articles in Heythrop Journal, Philosophia Christi, Religious Studies, and Sophia. He recently finished editing a book called Explaining Evil: Four Views (featuring a chapter from Tyndale's Dr. Richard Davis) that was released in January of 2019 with Bloomsbury Academic. He is currently working on a new monograph for Pickwick Publications called, Broadening Defenses to the Problem of Evil. Dr. Franks is a member of the Society of Christian Philosophers and on the Executive committees for the Evangelical Philosophical Society and the Canadian Society of Christian Philosophers. Dr. Franks joins the executive leadership team having served almost every academic committee at Tyndale.
