An overview of current ethical concerns, including a lack of governance (differences between reporting and monitoring); the clash between individual autonomy (freedom to choose how to die) and vulnerability (disability, poverty, and mental illness); lowered access to other kinds of care (palliative care, home care, and social supports); impact on families and loved ones; and faith-based concerns.

Her Ph.D. thesis from McGill University was on the ethics of care at the end of life.
