Introduces students to the basic issues and skills involved in people-helping relationships, such as active listening, appropriate responding skills and intake skills. Ethical principles are also covered. Comprised of two parts: (1) in-class lectures and demonstrations, and (2) practice of basic counselling skills in class and in a lab setting.
