About Muskoka Bible Centre
Our vision is to be a vital partner with the Church in growing resilient, biblically rooted families to the glory of God. We provide camp, conference and retreat experiences where guests are renewed in their faith journey with Jesus Christ, connected to others in meaningful relationship and equipped to be the hands and feet of God in their communities.
MBC is completely redeveloping our Student Discipleship Program to make sure that we’re meeting the needs of our student staff. Living in today’s culture is hard, and we want to equip you to be ready to face the world as you grow and develop as a Christian. Our name comes from 1 Timothy 4:12-15:
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress.
We believe that the best way to grow as a disciple of Jesus isn’t just to read about His life – we want our student staff to practice living out their faith. That means we’re looking for students who don’t just want a summer job, but who want to actively grow in their faith and contribute to a healthy Christian community.
The Immerse program is Muskoka Bible Centre’s student discipleship program. We believe that every student who serves at MBC should be growing not only in their work skills and experience, but creating a deeper faith in God. To do that, we work each year to build a unique community of students who are committed to serving well, learning together and spending time asking questions of each other and their leaders about what faith looks like and how it impacts their everyday life.
We use all sorts of different discipleship methods, including Bible study, worship and individual check-in time to make sure each student is thriving. Immerse is more than just a quick sermon once a week – we’re looking for students who want to deepen their faith, serve God in a Christian community, and have a ton of fun while doing it.
