Dealing with Disenfranchised Grief (Module 3 of 6)

This module will explore the nature of disenfranchised grief by understanding the language of grief and loss. Disenfranchised grief can include suicide, traumatic death, and other losses that are challenging to process because they are unacknowledged, avoided or not legitimized.

This module will explore the impact of death and loss upon the family system. You will learn about death and the family life cycle, looking at how family members react individually to loss and collectively as a family. A special emphasis will focus on how children understand death and express their grief.
Embracing the End of Life (Module 6 of 6)

This module invites students to explore the complex realities that arise at the end of life. Together we will consider the ethical decisions that may need to be made, the importance of having a living will, and the sacred practices of saying goodbye and keeping vigil.
