Counselling Psychology [PSYC 3083]
Course Description
Introduces students to the basic issues and skills involved in people-helping relationships, such as, active listening, appropriate responding skills and in-take skills. Ethical principles are also covered. Comprised of two parts: (1) in-class lectures & demonstrations, and (2) practice of basic counselling skills in class & in a lab setting. Prerequisites: PSYC 101, 102. Exclusion: PSYC 202.
