To participate in any Intramural Sports, casual recreation, group fitness, sepcial athletics events, drop-in athletics clubs, or use of Tyndale's athletic facility, please ensure you complete the Emergency Information Waiver form. 4-on-4 Basketball
Increase your speed and space on the basketball court with 4-on-4 basketball. The game is on the line. Do you drive the lane or pull up for a jumper with two seconds to go? Make use of a half-court system that will ramp up the intensity of the game while still using some of the same techniques of the 5-on-5 version. If you’re a recreational player, 4-on-4 basketball is perfect because of the unstructured nature of the game. If you’re a more competitive player, you will enjoy the faster pace gained with 4-on-4. Fill out a sign-up form to join a 4-on-4 basketball team.

Teams:
Team rosters must be co-ed and may contain no less than 4 and no more than 6 players.
The Game:
Each team must have 4 players present to start the game.
The playing court shall be one half of the basketball court.
A game will begin with both teams agreeing on one player to shoot for possession. If the player makes the shot they have first ball, but if the shot is missed, the first ball goes to the opposing team.
Each game will consist of 20 points by one team or 20 minutes, whichever comes first.
Baskets are worth 1 point or 2 points if scored behind the three point arc. Teams will be responsible for keeping their own score.
If you score, you exchange possession and the defending team starts with the ball.
No foul shots will be taken.
If the offense hits the rim in an attempted shot and the defense rebounds the ball, they need to take the ball out to the 3-point line via pass or dribble, before trying to score. If a shot is attempted with no contact to the rim, and the defense rebounds the ball, no clearance is required.
Putting the Ball in Play:
Following each dead ball period, once the ball is given to the offensive team by the defense, play may begin.
After checking the ball with his/her opponent the offensive player must pass to a teammate before attempting to score.
Fouls:
A player who is fouled shall be responsible for calling the foul.
The penalty for a foul shall be to award the possession of the ball to the team who was fouled.
If opponents disagree about a foul/non-foul, the player in possession shall shoot, from the free throw line. If the basket is made they will keep possession of the ball if it is not made possession will be turned over. Note: No points will be awarded if the free throw is made.
Tie Game:
If a game is tied after 20 minutes, teams will shoot at the top of the key for possession of the ball. Play will continue with the first team scoring a basket winning.
